Children who receive full-time treatment should always receive it in facilities that are safe and under the supervision of competent, qualified staff members. Our desire is to shine light in hard places and make sure parents know about the places that are caring for our children (especially residential treatment facilities) and how to report them when the facilities fail to provide proper care. We will also spotlight specific facilities and/or companies to hold them accountable to the public scrutiny.

Records Requests

We will assist parents with filing public records requests to gain access to inspection reports, complaints and information on the facilities and companies that treat their children. For liability purposes, we will only share information that is clearly documented in reports and actively encourage parents to file complaints with the appropriate oversight agencies when necessary.

Media Assistance

We will use our crisis media relations experience to proactively assist parents with using media outlets to share concerns about particularly egregious cases involving their children. Conversely, we will help media outlets identify parents that are willing to speak out about their own experiences with the goal of seeking improvements.

Message Amplification

We will use our social media, trainings and public speaking opportunities to share credible reports of failings of the institutions that care for our children. The goal is to shine light into dark places and press publicly for changes to the healthcare system.
